The Global Risk & Compliance Organization (GRC) is an independent risk management function, led by the Chief Risk Officer, with the objective of ensuring that American Express operates in a safe, sound, and fully compliant manner with all applicable regulatory expectations. GRC creates and maintains the overall risk management framework, performs independent risk management assessments, and monitors applicable risks.

As the Senior Manager of Learning and Development for Operational Risk Management, you will play a pivotal role in executing the firm's operational risk training initiatives. This team is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive learning programs to enhance the organization's risk management capabilities.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Play a role in executing against a strategic learning and development roadmap aligned with Amex’s operational risk management objectives and regulatory requirements
Create innovative and engaging training content, including e-learning modules, workshops, simulations, and experiential learning opportunities
Collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders across the organization to identify learning needs and prioritize training initiatives
Deliver training programs globally, ensuring consistency in content, quality, and effectiveness
Evaluate the impact of training interventions through metrics and analytics, refining programs to drive performance improvement
Incorporate relevant insights into learning initiatives from industry practices, emerging trends, and regulatory developments in operational risk management
Serve as a thought leader and advocate for a culture of risk awareness and accountability throughout the BlueBox, promoting learning and professional development
Support audits and exams as needed
Qualifications:
2 years of experience in learning and development within the financial services industry, specific expertise in operational risk management preferred
Understanding of risk management principles, frameworks, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank Act, MiFID II, etc.)
Experience designing and delivering training programs for diverse audiences, including front-office staff, risk professionals, and senior executives
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across organizational levels
Demonstrated ability to drive change and innovation, leveraging technology and data analytics to enhance learning outcomes
Strong team player, and self-motivation with the ability to handle multiple work streams across geographical locations and ad-hoc tasks simultaneously
Relevant certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) and membership in professional associations (e.g., GARP, PRMIA) are a plus
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
