Software Engineering Internship:

You will be given the opportunity to work as an individual contributor or in project teams where software engineering, analytical skills, leadership, collaboration, inclusion, and innovation are keys to success. During your internship you will have the opportunity to work as part of a global Digital Technology & Data team and gain hands-on experience in real business situations and exposure to many of Cargill’s businesses and functions.

Your Work:

  • Internship will be focused on applying and building engineering skills applied to areas such as cloud platform, big data platform, application development and more.

  • Work will be complemented by a quality approach to supervision and mentorship. An on-going job performance evaluation will be provided.

  • Interns are given the opportunity to apply their skills and gain an understanding of the Cargill organization.

  • Opportunity to learn more about Cargill’s diverse businesses through numerous events such as first day orientation, summer activities, volunteer events, as well as our Cargill Intern Forum Event.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Our Internship Programming:

  • With comprehensive learning resources at your disposal, you can take your learning in any direction.

  • Throughout the internship, interns are invited to participate in events that will give exposure to leadership, provide development opportunities, and offer the ability to network with cross-functional interns across the U.S.

Internship details:

  • Internships are typically 12 weeks in duration.

  • Interns are paid hourly for time worked.

  • Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work.

  • Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered a full-time position to return the following year.

  • Opportunity to network with Cargill Digital, Technology, and Data Leadership as well as other interns will be provided and encouraged.

  • Team-oriented, fast-paced, and hands-on.

Compensation

The expected hourly rate for this position is $24.00-$34.00. Compensation decisions are dependent on grad date and eligibility for full-time employment.

Job Location:

  • Atlanta, GA

Required Qualifications:

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa, or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major OR minor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other technology related discipline

  • Graduating with a degree between December 2025 and Summer 2026

  • All candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate to Atlanta, GA for a summer internship

  • Able to complete a 12-week internship in the summer (May/June - early August 2025)

  • Ability to relate technical knowledge to job-related duties

  • Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance

  • Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures

  • Knowledge of basic structure programming, systems analysis and design, database design, and business concepts

  • At least a 3.0 GPA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previously completed a software engineering internship

  • Commercial product software development experience

  • Experience with agile development methodologies

  • Demonstrated analytical and technical skills

  • Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills, collaboration skills, verbal and written communication skills, and information research and gathering skills
