Freshop is a wholly owned subsidiary of NCR providing e-Commerce solutions for retailers around the world. In this exciting role you will join Freshop’s DevOps / SRE team in development and operation of the next generation of e-Commerce solutions.

Location –Atlanta, GA

Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead a team of software engineers within the scope of their support work, projects and performance

• Deliver projects and support work on-time while communicating it to the team, upper management and stakeholders

• Contribute and help lead architecture, design, development and processes efforts with your team

• Remove roadblocks reported by the team, which could require cross-team collaboration and or escalation to executive management

• Facilitate the right outcomes with data and conviction using diplomacy.

• Maintain and stay abreast of current technologies and trends

• Measure and improve team productivity

• Maintain a manner of leadership and flexibility that diffuses pressure and promotes a team atmosphere

• Assist in the creation of processes and procedures with input from other development teams

• Support an open, learning, and progressive environment to allow the team's exploration of new solutions

• Ensure right mix of personalities or skills in the project team composition by hiring solid candidates

• Review and lead processes to document, train, and build new tools and solutions for Account Managers and Support to ‘self-service’ the Freshop platform

• Work closely with front-end developers, architects and DBAs to develop and extend our cutting edge online grocery platform

• Build and Optimize Data modules and data structure to achieve increased data processing speed, reliability and scalability

Requirements

• SQL database design, querying, and optimization

• Strong software development fundamentals, data structures, design patterns

• Knowledge of query languages, APIs, data pipelines, and how to work with them in practice

• Experience working in Unix based environments.

• You can analyze a feature story and design a robust and complete solution for it. You have excellent debugging skills and use tools to aid you.

• You write well-designed, reliable code that you or others will find easy to understand and modify six months from now.

• You know databases and SQL very well. You’re comfortable with Linux commands and tools.

• You're comfortable implementing integrations with third-party systems using HTTP and XML.

• You know and use all of these: IDE, source control, debugger, continuous testing, build automation

• You communicate well whether you’re patiently helping a user, explaining a design to your colleagues, or writing a specification
