Overview
Restaurant Accounting is one of five teams within Restaurant Financial Services. Restaurant Accounting consists of two key functional areas: Regional Accounting Support and Accounting Strategy. Within these areas, we provide accounting support and strategy for: Chick-fil-A domestically franchised and company owned restaurants, STC Brands, Beyond the Restaurant, Operations Accounting, International restaurants, and our Restaurant Fee Calculation and Profit/Loss Reporting system. We take pride in providing “Second Mile” service to our customers which consists of Operators, STC Brand Executive General Managers, Team Members, Support Center Staff and 3rd party vendors.
This is a professional level role requiring a person who will be responsible for STC Brands Restaurant accounting/auditing assignments that may be broad and complex. This includes: STC Brands restaurant assignment, month-end reviews, general ledger account reconciliation and revenue/expense auditing to ensure compliance to policies and procedures as well as detailed review of all Restaurant payments.
Our work is primarily performed at the Support Center in a campus mobile environment. Occasional travel and over-time may be required to meet team or individual goals and deadlines. Responsibilities
Spends up to 40% of time on responsibilities directly related to assigned restaurants. This includes:
Serves as relationship manager and provides proactive accounting support for EGMs and Restaurant leaders
Reviews and finalizes Profit and Loss Statements for Restaurants independently
Actively seeks to understand EGMs’ perspectives while demonstrating the ability to speak with comprehensive understanding and perspective of STC Brands Accounting
Spends up to 50% of time on projects and responsibilities that may not directly support assigned restaurants. Examples include:
Audits all Restaurant payment activity to ensure compliance with established guidelines/policies
Recommends and implements changes to guidelines/policies
Proactively identifies trends and resolves issues from dashboards and daily alerts along with sharing identified trends with STC leadership and support staff
Participating member of the Risk Council Team identifying and creating necessary solutions for STC Brands Restaurants
Spends 5 to 10% of time on development activities. Examples include:
Department and STC Brands Support Team Meetings
Conferences, Webinars
Performance Reviews, Personal Development Plan
Lunch & Learns, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge:
Knows and applies comprehensive knowledge of STC Brands Accounting to complete complex assignments
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of STC Brands business model, and corporate organization and applications to complex assignments
Takes on a broad perspective when solving complex problems related to restaurant activity
Skills:
Collaborate with other departments on complex assignments
Work on multiple complex projects at any given time
Use a broad perspective to proactively identify ways to improve STC brands accounting processes
Communicate proactively and effectively with Executive General Managers (EGMs), 3rd party vendors and internal staff with a “Second Mile Service” mindset
Analytical and detail-oriented
Self-driven, exhibiting a personal drive for excellence and an eagerness to learn
Abilities:
Has considerable latitude for unreviewed action and decision
Performs work under limited supervision, conferring with supervisor on unusual matters
Acts as a resource for staff
Uses good judgement when making decisions
Ability to learn new systems and/or business reporting tools (Fusion, Alteryx, Tableau)
Must pass Chick-fil-A accounting test OR CPA (Certified Public Accountant) OR passed all four parts CPA exam
