PCI Government Services Sr. Health Communications Consultant in Atlanta, Georgia

This role will focus on three main areas:

Technical Assistance: Provides consultation and technical assistance to internal and external groups concerning health communication and marketing programs, projects, and strategies. - Provides technical assistance and consultation to public health entities and public health communication programs. - Consistently provides timely professional, expert technical assistance and consultation that is responsive to partner needs. - Gathers data and develops products such as fact sheets, program briefings, Questions and Answers, program summaries, Web pages, and program-in-briefs. - Develops training materials that are technically accurate, reflect thorough understanding of health communication principles and subject matter, and are audience appropriate. - Proactively communicates project plans and progress to coworkers, other project staff, and supervisors. - Proactively brings developments affecting the timeline to the team lead's attention.

Communications Product Development: Produces health communication messages and products in accordance with established guidelines and policies. - Develops communication products including fact sheets, social media, rollout plans, web content. - Works with subject matter experts to plan, develop, implement and evaluate informational and educational materials intended to reach broad national audiences. - Consistently develops products that reflect thorough knowledge and use of relevant communication and behavior theories and best practices. - Expertly develops and tailors messages and formats as indicated by formative evaluation and other input to meet audience needs. - Consistently develops communication products with the appropriate technical subject-matter input. - Consistently develops products that support achievement of stated communication and educational objectives.

Project Management: Manages projects in order to further the mission of the organization by managing resources, communicating, and meeting established timelines. - Experience managing large, complex tasks and diverse project teams. Includes working with internal and external stakeholders on specific timelines. - Independently follows-up on actions and improvements that impact the immediate work unit. - Effectively plans, organizes, and completes work assignments to requirements. - Promptly resolves problems or brings recommendations to supervisor in a proactive manner. - Regularly develops complete protocols that adhere to provide guidance. - Obtains input from and effectively negotiates interests with stakeholders when developing products.

Key Duties include:

Assist team lead with management of key initiatives. - Maintains contract records including but not limited to meeting agendas and notes. - Following meetings, organizes action items and proactively follows-up with team lead and team on next steps to ensure that all deliverables keep moving. - Acknowledges receipt of deliverables, saves deliverables, and follows up with task leads for review and timeline. - Reviews deliverables and completes follow-ups as requested by COR and team lead. - Provides updates on progress of tasks to team lead and team members weekly - and calls out critical periods of short deadlines, reviews, or overdue deliverables.

Support programmatic communications technical assistance. - Lead the development and coordinate reviews for new or updated content on key initiatives. - Develop presentations and briefing materials for programs. - Support communications branch liaisons in providing communications technical assistance to DVP recipients and partners.

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years experience in health communications or health related project/program management, or related fields.
  • Ability to work collaborative on a team and independently ith initiative.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to develop concise communications' products.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organization and record management skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Proven understanding and implementation of project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of public health or health related initiatives.
  • Ability to management multiple concurrent initiatives.

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in an office environment. Employees must possess the ability to work in a standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.

To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, both of which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Employees must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
