Continental Head of Product Group 3 Body & Actuator Controls / Manager Business Dev. in Auburn Hills, Michigan

The PL4 PG3 Head of Product Group Body & Actuator Controls is responsible to lead and ensure profitable business and growth for dedicated product group. This will include multiple customers including but not limited to Ford, GM, etc.

  • Identifying and driving new business opportunities.

  • Lead and manage direct reports and competence management.

  • Functional leadership to assigned employees and organizational units.

  • Understand market needs of the dedicated Product Group and define strategy, technical product/portfolio roadmap together with Business Development.

  • Define and execute business plan for dedicated product group and drive active alignment with segments.

  • Drive project prioritization including resource management (budget and people).

  • Responsible for Quote Product RD budget (internal, external).

  • Act as Business Owner for the development Platform Product and manage their usage within projects, ensuring re-use and cost reduction in application development.

  • Supervising all applications within Product Group.

  • Define structure/organization for the group according to the next higher organization level, manage organization in order to meet clients’ requirements efficiently.

  • Risk management: Identify the risks and find alternative solutions in order to avoid or to minimize risk effects (e.g. fluctuation, tools, space, assets, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in an electrical engineering, computer science, natural sciences.

  • 7 years of long-term progressive professional leadership experience in Automotive.

  • Leadership experience (Leading Leaders) in an international environment.

  • Advanced experience in Automotive OEM cooperation

  • Experience in leading large, international, cross discipline organization.

  • Distinct project management experience, especially in leading bigger international projects.

  • Fluent English skills (written and spoken)

  • International experience

  • Intercultural sensitivity

  • Appx 20% travel
