Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Waitstaff at our senior living facility in Auburn, Maine. The ideal candidates will provide exceptional dining service to our residents, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable dining experience. This role is integral in fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our residents and their families.
Responsibilities:
Dining Service:
- Greet residents in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and deliver them promptly.
- Assist residents with menu selections and accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
- Serve meals efficiently and courteously.
- Ensure dining tables are properly set up before meals and cleared after use.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
Resident Interaction:
- Build positive relationships with residents and their families.
- Address resident inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure residents feel valued and respected.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate meal preparation.
- Communicate effectively with fellow waitstaff and management.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Assist in emergency situations according to facility protocols.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in a senior living facility or healthcare setting, is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and patient, with a genuine interest in working with seniors.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Certifications:
- Food handlers certification or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
