TEKsystems Bill Rate Specialist in Auburn, Washington

Position Overview: The Bill Rate Specialist is responsible for providing accurate and timely rate quotes both internally and externally. This role involves direct interaction with customers to address pricing inquiries and the rating of freight bills. The specialist will also audit completed bills, analyze land costs, and maintain up-to-date tariffs. A strong focus on customer service and attention to detail is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Rate Quotes: Offer precise rate quotes to customers and internal departments.

  • Customer Assistance: Help customers via phone and computer with pricing queries in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Rate Freight Bills: Evaluate and determine rates for freight bills.

  • Bill Auditing: Ensure the accuracy of completed bills through thorough auditing.

  • Land Cost Analysis: Examine and report on land transportation costs.

  • Rate Sheets: Generate and distribute written rate sheets as required.

  • Tariff Maintenance: Keep tariffs current and distribute them as requested.

  • Customer Service Duties: Answer calls, research issues, handle special requests, and approve vendor invoices.

  • Interdepartmental Support: Provide assistance to coworkers and other departments as needed.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures consistently.

  • Corrections: Prepare and provide necessary corrections to billing documents.

  • Miscellaneous Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Qualifications:

  • Customer Service: Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer support.

  • Mathematical Proficiency: Basic math skills for rate calculation and auditing.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office; comfortable with general office procedures and multi-line phone systems.

  • Communication: Strong active listening, speaking, writing, and reading comprehension skills in English.

  • Analytical Skills: Judgment, decision-making, and social perceptiveness.

  • Organizational Skills: Time management, prioritization, attention to detail, and the ability to organize work in an open office environment.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a fast-paced, open office environment and requires the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.

You will have your own office.
