Foundation Partners Group Funeral Director / Embalmer in Training in Auburn, Washington

We currently have an opening for a Funeral Director in Training at Klontz Family Funeral Home in Auburn, WA. The Funeral Director in Training will interact with licensed funeral directors to learn first-hand about the funeral director’s career.

Overview & Responsibilities:

  • Preforms or works directly with the public

  • Greets families and guests

  • Answers calls in a timely fashion from a multi-line phone system

  • Cleans and maintains the preparation room and its supplies

  • Processes and maintain at-need and pre-need case files

  • Assists with embalming, dressing, cosmetizing, and casketing of the deceased

  • Transfers deceased from place of death to funeral home and crematory

  • Enters vital information into software systems

  • Processes files from start to finish, including filing flag forms, completing trust account forms, ordering death certificates, etc.

  • Provides both standard and customized service materials

  • Releases urns, service materials, personal property, and flags to families

  • Updates list of family members to contact for information

  • Responds to emails efficiently and timely

  • Stocks and organize urns

  • Places obituaries for families in the newspaper, social media, and website

  • Responds and attends to inquiries as required

  • Performs other duties assigned

    Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Currently enrolled in or have completed an accredited mortuary science program

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Self-motivated and energetic

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Caring, empathetic, and committed to providing best-in-class service to customers

  • Sensitivity and knowledge of different philosophical systems and religions

  • Knowledge of basic principles, values, ethics, ways of thinking, customs, practices, and their impact on human culture

  • Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clear driving record
