POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor. The supervisor will directly supervise employees in the areas of shipping/receiving and material handling. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a manner consistent with company expectations, policies and philosophies.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment and receiving by performing the following duties:
Manage the order generation, order follow up and physical inbound supply chain for an assigned number of items / suppliers.
Continuously monitor and follow up inbound/outbound deliveries.
Contribute to the coordination of transportation.
Managing inventory levels of assigned items to achieve sales, inventory, and material turnover objectives.
Ensure that products are procured and delivered on time, while tracking material usage and monitoring product flows.
Using Kaizen principles, ensure that materials move in the most efficient way.
Monitor, maintain and improve KPI’s for the assigned team to ensure that the objectives for their assigned team are adhered to.
Ensure that KPI’s are respected.
Ensure the necessary flow of information to/from their team.
Improve Productivity within their assigned team.
Follow-up on improvement initiatives.
Initiate, monitor, and lead team activities.
When necessary, participate in functions unrelated to them to assume a participant or leader role.
Ensure the efficient use of the team members and the development of their skills.
Coach and supervise assigned employees; provide support as needed.
Take part in the selection process for new hires.
Ensure annual performance appraisals.
Take disciplinary action, when necessary, in consultation with HR.
Ensure that new initiatives are accurately implemented by the team.
Communicate information from the Manager to the team members.
Solve daily problems that are not handled at the Management level.
Ensure that the team members have the proper means for doing their work.
Introduce training plans.
Act as an extension of management within their assigned team and throughout SNA; intervene in the event of relevant problems.
Operationally responsible for management of inbound/outbound supply chain of the assigned items / suppliers
Operationally responsible for dispatching inbound/ outbound transportation for items/suppliers.
Manage the ship list for inbound/outbound.
Manage the order generation and order follow-up for the suppliers.
Manage logistical, import/export documentation.
Pro-actively monitor, act, and ensure on-time delivery from the supplier.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to manage supply and priorities in the most efficient way.
Follow-up and improve delivery performance in cooperation with Buyers and Planners.
Forecast, track, and reconcile shipment cost (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
Manage the communication platform with the suppliers.
Manage and maintain logistic data in the Company ERP system and other logistic applications.
Analyze and initiate opportunities for improvement for the assigned items / suppliers.
Calculate purchase and production requirements to maintain the agreed inventory level, in line with forecast, inventory in stock, and supply information.
Forecast, track, and reconcile inventory of products/materials for assigned items.
Ensure all product is procured and delivered on time, to support the schedule.
Ensure adequate supply of product to support customer needs while minimizing investment.
Understand customers’ unique needs and business models to help manage correct inventory levels.
Monitor and track raw material usage in production as well as monitor product flows.
Count and reconcile inventory (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
Oversee replenishment of total inventory.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES
Certificate or Diploma in Operations Management, Inventory Management, or Production Management (or equivalent, related education or experience).
2 – 5 years of previous, related experience in a manufacturing setting.
Courses or designation in APICS considered an asset.
Relevant experience in receiving and inventory management.
Ability to communicate well both verbally and written.
Possess computer skills and be competent with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to multitask and maintain organized area.
Able to concentrate, focus, and pay strict attention to detail to fulfill roles and responsibilities.
Must be able to work effectively as part of a Team.
Eager to learn and progress.
Takes initiative and display a pro-active attitude.
Must be a “Subject Matter Expert” in their field of discipline (Supply Chain).
Ability to manage small teams (discipline/motivation/organization of work).
Ability to manage a high level of transactional accuracy. Trouble shooting transactional errors and ensures they are correct, in Receiving, Shipping, and Inventory.
Knowledge of an ERP system (AS400/ Job Scope) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection
May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds

Salary Pay Range - $70,000 - $80,000
