Manager, Fulfillment Operations, ANZ Region
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Flow & Fulfillment Operations for APAC Region. The Ops Manager is responsible for leading and managing operations team in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) who provides fulfillment services through VF or associated sub-contractors’ regional network to VF consumers, customers, and business partners. The candidate is expected to be able to engage with stakeholders, have a broad and strategic view about the market, logistics products, and operating model, to constructively lead the transformation of tools or projects, discover opportunities to improve the operations quality and cost, and drive continued improvement of customer’s experiences.
The operations manager is expected to have strong operations, transportation, warehouse Logistics and people management experience with strong business sense. With the operational experience, he/she has the ability to drive the growth, directly impact building of new solutions, services, and distribution structures across VF brands that entering into ANZ region. The candidate will participant in scaling the fulfillment operations in ANZ region by improving the cost, speed and service quality from operations aspect on a global scale.
As part of the APAC Flow & Fulfillment team, he/she will be will always obsessing about faster, cheaper and more secured order transaction flows. This team will collectively have tremendous knowledge and expertise in operating in locations across the ANZ region. As a operations manager, he/she will be responsible to propose and manage the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives as well as stepped improvements or product implementations for the country/region, ensuring that we are always ahead of what our clients’ needs are. Subject to the Supply Chain structure of the country/region, he/she will be responsible to manage 3PL / LSPs’ performance as well as the relationships with other VF subsidiaries / divisions in that country. Developing core competencies and capabilities for scalability and growth is a critical component of the manager’s success.
Your Responsibility will include (but not limited to):
Be responsible for all safety, budgetary, people development and operations objectives for an entire fulfillment network in the country/region. Responsibilities include managing and leading a team of operations, coaching, and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and leadership strength within the country/region. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for the team. Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds the team accountable for their performance and the performance of their subordinates.
Build up strategic relationship and partnership with stakeholder teams and service partners to grow fulfillment operations capabilities, participate in logistics products design and development with stakeholders and partners.
Lead and realize initiatives to optimize fulfillment lead times, costs and service levels across various internal and external teams and support the implementation of on time launches for new logistics products.
Collaborate with other departments to integrate new operations models (eg.: TABS logistics operations) and define work procedures with VF business systems or processes, such as customer service and order management, finance, and shipping.
Oversees all activities at the DCs and transportations, that including oversees operations to attain maximum production efficiency, oversees inventory and shipping/receiving functions operating at levels which meet customers’ needs and established financial benchmarks, and oversees activities so that shipping is on schedule and product is within quality standards and cost objectives. Ensures fulfillment operations undertaken adheres to company policy and administering practices in fair and equitable manner.
Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the fulfillment operations to meet and exceed business plan.
Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other country leads) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives, as well as providing needed support and resources for other network initiatives.
Understand the business needs quickly and converting them into team goals. Set up team vision and elaborate it to yearly planning.
Proficient in safety management. And coach all levels to obey safety rules in daily work.
Understand quality requirements upon process review. Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement mechanism.
What we will be looking for in you:
Bachelor’s Degree (MBA Qualification preferred).
8+ year’s management experience in B2B and/or B2C fulfillment operations and cross boarder logistics environment.
3+ years’ experience in selecting, appointing, and managing large 3PL contracts.
5+ years Project or program management experience. Entrepreneurial and comfortable to work in a startup environment.
International work experience.
Experience in Freight Forwarding or FIATA related rules and regulations.
Knowledge and understanding of Trade, trade agreements and Compliance.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels.
Excellent communication skills in written and oral English with the ability to face external and internal partners in a professional and mature manner. Excellent document writing and upwards communication skills.
Excellent judgment to ensure timely decisions are made on a regular basis. Demonstrated ability to get things done and be resourceful. Ability to handle complex and ambiguous scenarios. Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments. Ability to manage conflicting priorities - capability to work on several projects in parallel. Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions. Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
