Raytheon is seeking a Logistics Shipping Specialist to support the packing and shipping department in Aurora, CO. The shipping specialist will use various software applications to pack and ship product. This role requires the individual work independently, efficiently, and accurately while always adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Adhere to all safety standards including but not limited to wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

  • Inspect and verify accuracy of outgoing shipments.

  • Read, understand, and execute written packaging instructions.

  • Pack and transport products using ergonomic lifts and material handling equipment such as powered industrial trucks and pallet jacks.

  • Arrange transportation services for domestic and international shipments.

  • Load and unload trucks.

  • Track shipments, research errors and file claims.

  • Document and keep accurate shipping records per company policies and contract agreements.

  • Ensure accurate record keeping for various audits.

  • Monitor workflow and assist with prioritizing activities to improve output.

  • Regularly communicate progress of high priority activities with customers, managers and coworkers.

  • Oversee the retention of packing material and supplies for future use in support of program shipments.

  • Maintain shipping metrics for site and corporate review.

  • Support internal, external and customer led audits, as required.

  • Inventory of products, materials and supplies.

  • Provide additional support of receiving, courier and stockroom departments during peak workload periods.

  • Maintain training and certifications for the safe operation of powered industrial equipment.

  • Maintain training and certifications to ensure the compliance and safe handling of dangerous goods for both air and ground transportation, including preparation of Dangerous Goods Declarations

  • Monitor and complete corporate and departmental training requirements.

  • Perform assigned tasks within tight deadlines.

  • Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment operating certification.

  • Work overtime as needed and occasional Saturdays.

  • Lift up to 28 pounds.

  • Obtain 49CFR and IATA HAZMAT certification.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience packing, shipping, material handling, and/or inventory management.

Education:

Typically requires an associate degree or other 2-year post high school training with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience.

Additional Desired Experience:

  • Use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Working knowledge of SAP

The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
