  • Our new Crisis Services program provide patients and families with timely, effective care during a mental health crisis by initiating care in our EDs for patients who are currently experiencing a menta health crisis, developing a new unit for patients not yet safe to go home, who would benefit from a family-centered, acute crisis intervention, and establish a crisis clinic to provide rapid access to ambulatory treatment.

  • Our new Traverse Academy, a school-based intensive mental health treatment program, within the Cheery Creek School District is slated to open in Fall of 2023. It is an integrated school and intensive outpatient treatment center, including specialized transition programming, for students with significant and impairing emotional and/or behavioral disorders. The program is part of an effort to reduce risk for self-injurious behavior and suicide through collaborative school-academic partnerships and facilitate a smooth transition from intensive treatment to the student's home school.

Job Summary:

full-time Faculty Psychologist within the CHCO PMHI with primary responsibilities in Crisis Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical care to patients and families seen in PMHI crisis services, which will span emergency room, ambulatory, and crisis stabilization clinical areas.

  • Collaborate with internal and external providers involved in a patient's care

  • Provide clinical consultation for complex cases, including extended stay patients

  • Conduct psychological assessment and/or functional assessments with patients, as appropriate. Use results of assessments to inform development of individualized treatment plans and/or behavior plans, as needed

  • Partner with PMHI leadership and clinical team members on the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of crisis services programming

  • Supervise, teach, and mentor mental health trainees

  • Engage in research, scholarship, and/or quality improvement projects

  • Serve on committees, task forces, and/or workgroups

  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD and/or PsyD.

  • Completed an APA-approved doctoral training program, including an APA-approved internship.

  • Must have a Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado at time of hire.

Associate Professor:

  • 4-7 years of relevant clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: Ph.D. or Psy.D.

  • Completed an APA-approved doctoral training program, including an APA-approved internship.

  • Must have a Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado at time of hire.

Professor:

  • 7+ years of relevant clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: Ph.D. or Psy.D.

  • Completed an APA-approved doctoral training program, including an APA-approved internship.

  • Must have a Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications (applicable for all ranks):

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience following completion of a postdoctoral fellowship.

  • Experience providing evidence-based crisis services to youth and families with acute mental health concerns.

  • Experience working in an APA-accredited training program.
