Adecco US, Inc. Machinist I in Aurora, Illinois
Adecco is hiring for a Machinist- DIRECT HIRE for our client in Aurora, IL, where you will be responsible for machining products to specifications based on mechanical drawings. Utilize various machines to ensure quality and precision in our production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specification, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations and set up requirements.
Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material on machines.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, with 1-3 years of manual machining experience.
Strong work ethic and punctuality.
An understanding of machining fundamentals.
Heavy lifting (frequently 25+Lbs).
Stooping, climbing, and standing.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read drawings and tape measure accurately.
Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division for whole numbers and fractions. Basic understanding of the difference between standard and metric measurements.
Able to calculate dimensions and angles.
Ability to learn how to operate band saw, drill press, and beveling machines. Ability to safely use a cutting torch and grinding equipment.
Ability to perform basic layout work. Experience in use of measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and rulers. As well as height, thread, and pin gages.
Capable of conducting tests and inspections to evaluate quality.
Work Environment:
This position is in a shop environment that requires PPE as per OSHA standards.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and vibration.
May involve working under tight deadlines and in varying climate conditions.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, and use hands.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
Requires good vision for close work and depth perception.
Pay Details: $17.85 per hour
