Provide academic advising for a caseload of approximately 400 students: have command of and be able to communicate the requirements and academic options which help facilitate the students pursuit of a field or fields of study Present academic-oriented material through the facilitation of small learning cohorts, new student orientation, and workshops: co-lead weekly Freshman Interest Groups (FIGs) during the fall and possibly spring semesters and be a student leadership mentor to FIG Mentors Perform special project duties and assist with other activities as assigned: oversee multiple repeat attempts for Mathematics, Physics, and Astronomy courses; assist Mathematics Department with course management issues including prerequisites, seat demand, and registration sequencingAttend meetings, participate in professional development opportunities, and serve on committees, other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS
