Effectively manage and support 9 full time Environmental Program staff. Identify technical and professional development opportunities for staff. Fill vacant environmental positions adhering to University processes. General oversight of Green Labs and Semi-conductor positions.Plan, develop, enhance, and implement environmental programs University wide. Environmental permits and topics include but are not limited to the following: hazardous waste management, stormwater management, spill prevention and response, wastewater permits, food/water safety, and environmental site assessments. Program documents include manuals, guidelines, SOPs, semi-annual and annual reports, and online training. Effectively communicates the Environmental Program's requirements to stakeholders, project managers and project coordinators. Must comply with federal, state, local, and University requirements.Manage and direct the EHS Emergency Response program including Animal Make Safe, on call, and special events. Perform frequent assessments and updates as necessary of this program for safety and efficiency. Provide schedule oversight to ensure 24/7 response by EHS staff.Budgetary responsibilities including the review of monthly budget summaries for budget group 19863520XX, 19863564XX and 19863563XX to provide analysis of expenditures vs. budget amounts, and take corrective action to bring expenditures within budget.Promotes environmental compliance and safety through education and outreach. Conducts incident investigation and implements corrective actions. Perform other job related duties as assigned.Promote best practices through participation in external professional groups and organizations including CSHEMA and AHMP, as well as UT-System committees. Drive University vehicles. Maintain acceptable driver rating as established in Policy: UTS157 Section 2.5.4.
