K-16 Outreach Coordination Coordinate the centers outreach programming targeted towards educators and K-12 students. Programming includes educator workshops and seminars, K-12 student enrichment and educational events, initiatives with local and national institutions, and educational trips abroad. Related routine duties include coordinating all aspects of workshops and seminars (e.g., creating and maintaining budgets, promotion, speaker/presenter coordination, event setup, catering, etc.), creating and maintaining relationships with K-16 educators and other outreach professionals, traveling to Texas school districts for events, attending relevant local and national conferences, and working with external partners, including UTs Hemispheres NRC Consortium, on collaborative programming. Duties also include developing or coordinating the development of area-focused curricula and resources for classroom use by K-16 educators.Scholarships and Student Funding Coordination Serve as FLAS and scholarships coordinator for the department and center. Duties include using the LASSO scholarship system, coordinating the annual solicitation of student applications, organizing various faculty review and selection committees, communicating funding decisions to students, working with the Administrative Associate to create TA/AI offer letters each semester and corresponding Workday assignments, and researching new student funding opportunities. FLAS Fellowship coordination duties include overseeing the entire process (from promotion to grant reporting) and require collaboration with the other FLAS coordinators on campus for promotion and application review.Events Production Assistance Assist with coordinating event planning as directed by the Assistant Director and Director in a timely and effective manner. Tasks may include maintaining event records, updating the website and calendars, event setup/cleanup, and other related jobs. Duties require meticulous documentation of all communication with vendors, partners, and participants and clear and professional communication with the Assistant Director on completed tasks and progress on any assigned work.Communications Assistance Effectively support the Communications Coordinator in managing listservs, sending out surveys, updating the website(s), supporting student organizations as much as possible, and promoting relevant events as directed.Grant Reporting Work closely with the Assistant Director on preparing grant reporting screens for submission well before deadlines. Duties include keeping all tracking documents current and regularly reviewing grant proposals to ensure our activities align with grant goals and requirements.
