Mix pesticides that are suitable for the extermination to be performed and for determining where to use in buildings or on property. Mix pesticides in accordance with manufacturer labels. Apply pesticides in liquid, granular, dust, powder, or solid forms, in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency and Texas Department of Agriculture guidelines. Use baits, traps, exclusion, perform heat treatment, or other methods suitable for controlling rodents, bats, squirrels, possums, etc.Inspect buildings and properties for evidence of damage and infestation by pests. Prepare rooms for treatment and assist students or staff in moving 24/7 as needed. Inform the supervisor when pests are identified. Perform annual treatment of all rooms.Perform pest control for the extermination of rodents, insects and other pests. Respond to emergencies. Perform and practice Integrated Pest Management (IPM) when possible. Must maintain licensing from the Texas Department of Agriculture, Structural Pest Control Service, and complete all continuing education requirements throughout employment.Complete and submit paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. Keep an accurate account of all inventory. Maintain all required paperwork daily and keep daily log of all activities.Maintains all equipment in operating condition and clean after use. Report all deficiencies of equipment to supervisor. Inspect all heat equipment, extension cords, fans, and keep in proper working condition.Ensure safe work conditions and work practices. Promote safety through regularly scheduled safety training. Utilize the correct PPE and safe practices when applying pesticides in occupied areas and mixing chemicals.Work as a team member. Promote professional development of self and all staff to improve knowledge and work skills through ongoing training and workshops, including monthly safety training.Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills in communicating with supervisor, staff, and students regarding needed applications and work order status. Follow through with written and oral instructions and requests from supervisor. Other duties as assigned.
