TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION Project Manager (Telework) in Austin, Texas

You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.

Who You Are: You are a highly motivated professional ready to join the Construction and Facilities Management team to help provide and promote a safe and comfortable environment for agency employees. You are a self-starter skilled in project management, quality assurance, report generation, a problem solver, and a team player.

What you Will Do: The Project Manager II performs moderately complex (journey-level) project management work. Work involves the planning and initiation of projects at various level of completion: monitoring the progress and schedule. May train others. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

You Will be Trusted To: -Coordinate, plan, and evaluate projects using accepted project management methodologies. -Coordinate project activities with other state agencies, governmental jurisdictions or private sector partners and contractors. -Review and recommend proposals and bids to management. -Monitor and manage project quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable, fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications, and are completed within budget. -Identify potential risks and difficulties and designs strategies to mitigate and avoid them. -Communicate project methodology and processes to interested groups and team members. -May initiate project, obtain authorization and commitment, and demonstrate business need and project feasibility. -May develop criteria for evaluating programs, proposals and other pertinent information related to project assignments. -May develop budgets, schedules, work plans, resource requirements, and cost estimates and projections. -Perform other duties as assigned.

You Qualify With: -Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plusthree years of full-time experience in project management work,business analysis, or project administration; or three years of fulltimeexperience in the oversight of an agency program or instrategic planning and policy implementation. -One year of full-time qualifying experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of education.

Required travel within State of Texas up to 25% of the time.
