Provide leadership in the cultivation of a culture of safety, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. Participate in high-level strategy and planning for the TIW program. Provide operational coordination and support to various types of activities that will run through Texas Inventionworks program, that can include company-sponsored engineering projects, courses, competitions, clubs and open innovation. Develop and coordinate various internal projects and events including coordination of sponsors, guest mentors, and student organizations. Establish and maintain an ability to host community members on site for tours and other events.The target audience can include middle and high school groups, for prospective students (and their parents) and for UT and TIW supporters and potential supporters. Support the management of student staff and volunteers. Facilitate and support the relationships between the TIW program and university organizations including departments, research units and student groups. Work with TIW leadership and student groups to create recognition for student work, such as displays, web materials, video and other media.This work includes developing ways of establishing lifelong connections to TIW student staff and other students.Steward company and other donor relationships related to TIW activity include campus visit logistics, course scheduling timelines, and notable speaking opportunities. Support the stewardship of advisory boards, corporate supporters and Cockrell School of Engineering development initiatives.Oversee funding in and expenses out for relevant activities and initiatives. Help with the collection of appropriate usage data and other metrics to assess the status and impact of the TIW program.Benchmark related programming and outcomes at universities, companies and innovation labs. Functions for this position will change from time to time as the overall program evolves. Other functions as assigned.
