Summary of Role:

SunPower Corporation is seeking a senior software engineer to architect and develop software for the residential workstream. This role will report directly to the head of the residential scrum team

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing and developing software solutions using ruby on rails and react to meet end-to-end process requirements to support a nationwide residential sales process

  • Responsible for performing peer code reviews, technical implementation details, troubleshooting, and deployment activities

  • Develop and implement standards and procedures to ensure high quality, scalable, and secure software.

  • Partner with the product management team and peers to clarify technical implementation and scope of the work

  • Implement ruby on rails stack deployment on google cloud and AWS cloud using Kubernetes

  • Perform code deployment activities and support weekly product release cycle

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience

  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Five years of Ruby on Rails experience

  • Five years of React experience

  • 3-5 years of GitHub, Kubernetes, docker

  • More than five years of HTML5/CSS/JAVASCRIPT experience

  • Experience in code review, pull request, code deployment using Jenkins

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop ruby on rails and react stack

  • Understanding of advanced object-oriented concepts, abstraction/inheritance, as well as experience with object-oriented languages.

  • HTML5/CSS/JAVASCRIPT experience, ability to work with and write custom JS/CSS framework expansions is a plus.

  • Must be a creative thinker and can recognize and solve problems by thinking outside the box.

  • Ability to discuss and debate all options to achieve the optimal solution.

  • Flexible, ability to adapt to develop solid solutions

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with building and using REST APIs

  • Experience in software development in agile methodology

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the United States

  • Position located in Austin, TX or San Jose, CA
