Amazon System Development Engineer, Site Simulator in Austin, Texas

Description

Amazon Operations Technology is looking for an experienced System Development Engineer to join our Site Simulator team in Austin. In this role you will be solving challenging problems and developing scalable, high-performing solutions that require minimal long term sustaining and development. Our team is responsible for developing test platforms that have clarity into usage, a known baseline to begin testing off of, and a clear understanding of health and status of test platforms.

Key job responsibilities

In this role:

  • You will partner with Network Engineers, Software Engineers, and System Development Engineers globally to develop simple and efficient technology that aids our Fulfillment Centers and Transportation Sites.

  • Work with a wide variety of technologies and projects that range from third party enterprise solutions to open source and proprietary inventions.

  • Technicians and Engineers worldwide will look to you for mentorship, guidance and solutions to complex business problems that are truly unique to Amazon.

  • We value performance, simplicity, and scalability in our designs.

  • In your day-to-day work you will focus on automation of complex tasks to allow our business to scale with customer demand.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Austin, TX, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
