To succeed in this role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. If you want to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, this role might be right for you. Those with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets are preferred.

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

  • Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

  • Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

  • Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

  • Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision Requirements - High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Proficient in ERP systems

  • Knowledge of General Accounting

  • Foundational knowledge in Audit Prep

  • Journal entries experience required

  • Proficiency in Journal Entry Preparation

  • General familiarity with Analyze Financial Statements

  • Good understanding of Sage Software

  • Month-end Journal Entries experience preferred

  • Financial analysis experience highly preferred

  • Adeptness in bank reconciliations

  • Microsoft Excel experience highly valued

  • Audit Reviews experience highly desired

  • Previous experience working with Sage Intacct

  • Earlier work involving financial reconciliation

  • Proficiency in US GAAP

  • Solid understanding of month end closings

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Accrued Expenses

  • Hands-on experience with VLOOKUP

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Bank Reconciliation

  • General Accounting experience preferred

  • General ledger experience desired

  • Experience with Pivot Table

  • Practical knowledge of Audited Financial Statements

  • General familiarity with accruals

  • Adeptness in accruals

  • Prior experience with Full Cycle Accounting

  • Comprehension of Excel Formulas

  • Background working with Financial Projections

  • Posting Journal Entries experience

  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
