Overview
SOSi is seeking a Chef for our current contract located on Camp Taji, Iraq.
Essential Job Duties
Overall responsibility for daily operations in the kitchen.
Maintaining or raising the profit margins on food.
Managing ,training and leading the brigade of cooks.
Having excellent cooking skills.
An understanding of produce and ingredients.
The ability to write menus that are both creative and profitable.
Holds health and safety and food hygiene awareness.
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standard.
Ensure that the staff maintain good hygiene and safety standards.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in full service or institutional food service environment.
Excellent English communication skills and ability to interact effectively with customers and other personnel.
Knowledge of food service and sanitation standards.
Excellent knife skills for food preparation.
Ability to consistently arrive punctually and contribute to positive dining atmosphere.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Work Environment
Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable at times.
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.
May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
