**JOB SUMMARY:** The Irrigator is responsible for irrigating field and row crops with surface water by performing the following duties. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:**

• Must obey company and safety policies at all times.
• Lifts gate at side of flooded irrigation ditch, permitting water to flow into bordered section of the field.
• Shovels and packs dirt in low spots of embankment or cuts trenches in high areas to direct water flow.
• Moves and operates moon buggies to pump water from flooded ditches to bordered fields.
• Shovels or hoes soil to clear ditches and furrows and build embankments that channel water in assigned area but avoid overflow into areas that could be damaged by water.
• Drives tractor to field and tows attached implement back and forth across field or between crop rows, manipulating levers that activate and position implement parts.
• Drains excess irrigation water which involves shoveling to help facilitate the draining of water.
• Other duties as assigned.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:**

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Related experience helpful.

**SKILLS/ABILITIES:**

• Ability to speak and understand English is a plus.
• Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
• Must be observant, organized, and detail oriented.
• Must function well in a fast-paced environment.
• Desire and ability to learn.
