Collections and Resolution Specialist

Job Description

Actively collect open AR balances by contacting customers and support the activities of branch personnel to collect open AR balances efficiently. Update the Get Paid AR collection system, including customer contact information, notes on status of open AR accounts, payment promises, customer disputes, and escalations. Respond to customer inquiries, providing assistance or directing the customer's issue to the appropriate person for speedy resolution. Reconcile accounts and perform administrative tasks as assigned. Establish acceptable payment arrangements, including settlements when warranted, while building a positive relationship with the customer. Generate and respond to written correspondence in a professional, compliant manner. Maintain accurate documentation reflective of conversations and arrangements reached with customers. Manage collection objectives using a high degree of professionalism and persuasiveness. Make recommendations for next steps when accounts become unresponsive. Complete skip tracing when contact with a customer ceases. Work effectively with salespeople, branch personnel, and other team members to resolve account issues. Work unapplied cash in search of payments.

Responsibilities

  • Actively collect open AR balances by contacting customers.

  • Support branch personnel in collecting open AR balances.

  • Update the Get Paid AR collection system with relevant customer information and notes.

  • Respond to customer inquiries and direct them to the appropriate person for resolution.

  • Reconcile accounts and perform additional administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Place and receive calls from past due commercial account holders to discuss payment arrangements.

  • Establish acceptable payment arrangements, including settlements when warranted.

  • Counsel customers to assist in finding funds to bring accounts current.

  • Generate and respond to written correspondence in a professional manner.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of conversations and arrangements with customers.

  • Manage collection objectives with professionalism and persuasiveness.

  • Make recommendations for next steps when accounts become unresponsive.

  • Complete skip tracing when contact with customers ceases.

  • Work effectively with salespeople, branch personnel, and other team members to resolve account issues.

  • Work unapplied cash in search of payments.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of high-volume collections, research, resolution, and de-escalation experience.

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

  • Experience with Salesforce.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • College coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business Information Systems preferred.

  • Experience in construction or manufacturing preferred.

Work Environment

Will be working in an office environment in Fells Point. The role involves working on a team and reporting to the AR/Collections manager. Standard hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM. The company is growing rapidly and has recently undergone a rebranding initiative, providing an exciting and dynamic work environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00
