Hogan Lovells US LLP Marketing and Business Development Specialist in Baltimore, Maryland

This position will support, plan, and execute the high-profile, business-critical marketing and BD activities of the Northeast Americas regional offices, including Washington D.C., Baltimore, Northern Virgina, Philadelphia, New York and Boston by working directly with key internal stakeholders and MandBD colleagues across the region. They will report into the Senior MandBD Manager, D.C. and Northeast Region to help execute a structured approach to marketing campaigns and profile raising, targeting, client development, pitching, and knowledge development across the practices.

Marketing and Business Development planning and budgeting

  • Support on the development and execution of the MandBD elements of the Americas business plan.
  • Deliver market research, client analysis and internal intelligence to support the business planning process.
  • Lead coordination efforts between regional, sector, and practice teams to help facilitate cross-office opportunities within the business plans.
  • Develop, manage and implement office MandBD activities and budgets, working with the Regional Senior MandBD Manager, OMPs and OAPs, as required.

Client targeting, pitches and credentials

  • Coordinate with the Clients and Sectors teams on identifying and supporting on client targeting efforts for Focus 50 and Sector Priority Clients led out of the Northeast Regional offices clients for northeast offices, including, assisting with partner roadshows and setting up client meetings.
  • Assist in providing and producing background research, strategy, client briefings, and competitor analysis documents in preparation for pitches and other client meetings.
  • Act as a client account manager for one or two of the firms key clients led out of the region
  • Conduct client feedback (post matter reviews, client service reviews and post pitch debriefs) for key clients in the region.

``` - Lead on office-specific pitches and credentials, as required. - Liaise with Global Pitch team and other MandBD team members; to assist with regional specific input to other industry sector, practice or firmwide pitches. - Create and maintain a suite of standard targeting materials, including credentials documents.

Profile Raising, Events and Sponsorships

  • Read industry, legal, and business publications to remain aware of regional trends, events and conferences in order to identify promotional opportunities.
  • Contribute to the drafting, review, collation, and updating of relevant regional entries in legal award submissions and league tables.
  • Liaise with the firms communications team on public relations, media relations and communications activities relevant to the office.
  • Lead and support on regional client events, seminars, programs, and sponsorships, including collaborating with practice and sector groups to streamline and enhance client targeting and ROI.
  • Evaluate, coordinate and execute on regional sponsorships as well as negotiating agreements, and managing participation in sponsorships in order to ensure that the firm maximizes return on its investment.
  • Support on other strategic BD and promotional initiatives and monitoring return on investment, as needed.

MandBD infrastructure, operations and internal comms

  • Assist in the creation and regular maintenance of key MandBD resources, including on the global intranet, regional awards submissions, regional events, association and subscription tracking, etc.
  • Produce internal communications including electronic newsletters, bulletins, and general announcements.
  • Encourage full and effective use of the firm's CRM databases (InterAction and Introhive) and social media database (Clearview Social).

Wider MandBD Support

  • Contribute to wider MandBD projects, as required.
  • Deal with ad hoc enquiries about regional offices and key clients from other parts of the firm or members of the MandBD team.
  • Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location and services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum five (5)+ years of marketing experience, preferably in a legal or professional / business services sector.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, professional level staff, and peers.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • While there is no line management responsibility in the role, candidates will need experience of working within cross-functional and cross-jurisdiction teams in a collaborative, professional environment.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexibility to evolve with the position as required.
  • An ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, and Interaction a plus).
  • Pragmatic, diplomatic, and resourceful, with the ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities.
  • Enthusiasm and dedication to the development of a professional services marketing career.
