Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Facilities Engineering candidate with a Mechanical Engineering portfolio . The successful candidate will assist our onsite Associate Director for Engineering/Energy in engineering design efforts related to building systems and building infrastructure, while also developing guidelines and standards for efficient energy use. The role involves collaboration between Design and Construction, Plant Operations, and Planning and Architecture to achieve our design, operational, energy, and environmental goals. Duties will include supporting planning efforts for major and minor design and renovation projects, performing analyses of existing building systems, reviewing construction work progress, and formulating policy and process improvements. The candidate will also conduct site visits to assess issues and troubleshoot problems at various locations.
Hard Skills
Degreed Engineer
Facilities Engineering Experience
Experience in or ability to interpret AutoCAD and/or BIM
Soft Skills
Ability to assist in resolving discrepancies and disputes during the construction process
Ability to formulate and implement policy and process improvements
Ability to conduct site visits to assess issues and troubleshoot problems
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Baltimore, Maryland and some days remote.
Work Environment
The position is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. The successful candidate will primarily be based at a university campus with occasional oversight for Capital Projects at other campuses, including international and lease locations
