Johns Hopkins University Research Program Assistant II in Baltimore, Maryland

The Providing Evidence Based Approaches for Caregiver Stress (PEACE) Study is seeking a Research Program Assistant II to support Dr. Lauren J. Parker in programming and research activities, specifically with recruiting participants for the study and managing study engagement. The assistant will work with Dr. Parker on recruiting and enrolling study participants, and participate with qualitative and quantitative data collection.

Ideal candidates are self-motivated, have strong verbal and written communication skills, excel in building relationships and partnerships with community stakeholders, have strong organizational skills with attention to detail and are able to handle multiple priorities work and meet deadlines. Flexibility, organization and critical thinking skills are essential. Strong knowledge and skills in behavioral interventions, recruiting Black/African American adults for community-based research, and caregiving of persons living with dementia research is preferred.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the project leads, the Research Program Assistant’s responsibilities include but are not limited to,

  • Recruiting participants to engage in research.

  • Assists with interviewing participants.

  • Collect data including semi-structured interviews and surveys.

  • Input records and data management in systems such as Excel, REDCap, or similar system.

  • Contribute to reports, publications, project summaries and grant proposals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.

  • Two years related experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some relevant experience or interest related to current research projects: aging, dementia, caregiving, behavioral interventions.

  • Experience engaging and recruiting Black/African American caregivers of people living with dementia into community-based research.

  • Strong skills in verbal and written communications, technical writing, and note-taking and editing.

  • Adept in effectively communicating through strong oral and writing skills.

  • Experienced in writing and editing professional letters, reports, and documents.

Starting Salary Range: $15.50 - $26.00 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

Employee group: Full Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9 am – 5 pm
