WOOD FINISHER

Worcester Eisenbrandt, a construction company specializing in historic restoration is seeking an experienced Wood Finisher for its shop located in Baltimore.

Position Summary

An experienced wood finisher would have advanced woodworking skills, and good knowledge of finishing techniques. The Finisher would have knowledge of tools and skills required to:

  • Neatly apply finishes to architectural components including, but not limited to oil and water based paints, lacquers, polyurethanes, catalyzed finishes and two component systems.
  • Experience to apply finishes using spray equipment.
  • Perform manual or mechanical finishing processes, such as rubbing, buffing, brushing, sanding, and scraping to remove excess coatings, and fill and level surface imperfections
  • Match colors and sheens of existing finishes.
  • Knowledge of specify finishing systems to meet needs of project specific requirements.
  • Perform touch up and finish repairs both in the shop and on a job site.
  • Maintain spray equipment, spray booths and finishing supplies.
  • Work safely, efficiently and collaboratively in a shop environment.
  • And other duties.

Requirements

  • Must have to the ability to identify the worst problems with existing structures in need of repair.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Communicate effectively in English
