Job Profile Summary

We are seeking a skilled Accountant (Financial Analyst – Management reporting) to join our team who will have the opportunity to champion our Global Finance Transformation by providing quality analysis from our new Center of Excellence.

This role will primarily support onshore partners within the Resource Industries segment by providing reporting and analytics, aimed at delivering actionable insights that drives profitable growth.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield Office, Bangalore, India

What you will do

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Responsible for management reporting activities including but not limited to:

  • month end closing and resolving incorrect charges

  • data uploads/reconciliations in Axiom

  • preparation of variance analysis templates

  • submission in SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC)

  • Support processes, reporting/analysis and submissions including but not limited to:

  • departmental reports, bonus, cost allocation reviews

  • research & engineering (R&E)

  • inventory insurance

  • SEC reporting

  • Balance sheet activities

  • Fixed assets, inventory refresh

  • Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting cycles

  • Develop into a subject matter expert for systems & reporting and providing guidance as required

  • Participating in and/or leading the development and supporting business process improvements as part of the Global Finance Strategy

Process Transition & Improvement:

  • Perform the tasks related to the transition of the projects in line with COE scope of work, timelines, business requirements and defined metrics/KPIs

  • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions, defining and owning the documentation (instruction manuals and scorecards/trackers)

  • Partner with multiple global stakeholders on day-to-day operations

  • Identify and leverage on tools and technologies to transform processes

  • Drive continuous improvement via simplification, standardization and automation

  • Embed change management best practices

What you will have:

  • Knowledge of using tools such as Axiom, SAP Business Objects (BOBJ), SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) and other Financial reporting software and tools

  • Working knowledge of basis of allocation, methodology and processes

  • Experience with advanced excel, power BI and powerpoint presentations

  • Ability to quickly learn Caterpillar management reporting methodology and knowledge about products, suppliers, and consumers

Background/Experience/Skills & Capabilities

  • Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, FP&A and month end processes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data, trends and patterns

  • Excellent customer service skills working in a global environment with multiple stakeholders to drive outcomes

  • Self-starter, works well independently and in a team, with excellent communication skills

  • Showcased leadership skills, good judgement, and accountability in prior roles

  • Experience in process transitions and transformations in a virtual environment

  • CA with 7 -10 years of progressive experience
