Job Title: Digital Content Specialist
How will you make an impact?
The Digital Content Specialist provides content strategy, content management, and content governance expertise to help ensure effective, high-quality digital content on thermofisher.com. This role ensures that marketing web content adheres to standard methodologies in editorial and brand style, user experience (UX), and design. The ideal candidate must be able to build strong and collaborative partnerships with internal collaborators, function as a website subject matter authority for marketers and web teams and be an advocate for the customer experience. The successful candidate is detailed and has the ability and desire to work in a governance role.
The candidate will be responsible for taking content from multiple business partners and feeding it thoughtfully into our website’s content management system. You will collaborate with business partners to ensure accuracy. You will use customer-centric design principles and page analytics to advise and drive your production decisions.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that digital content is accurate, consistent, and complete, and adheres to digital, editorial, SEO, and brand standards and enforce website content guidelines
Review, edit, and align marketing, educational, product, support, and search content for campaigns, new product introductions, integration projects, and routine requests
Build web pages within Adobe Experience Manager, and customize HTML/CSS code as needed
Collaborate with SEO Manager to understand and adopt technical SEO best practices
Find opportunities for and enlist business assistance with content optimization and cleanup
Lead workflows and manage multiple, simultaneous projects, with prioritization guidance from supervisor
Analyze internal and external customer needs, address customer feedback, and participate in voice of customer studies to improve the presentation of content
Communicate and collaborate effectively in meetings and using project tracking systems
Participate in Scrum ceremonies and follow Agile principles
Analyze content performance and web feedback, and use those data to regularly reevaluate web content guidelines and recommended content practices
How will you get here?
BA/BS in a scientific field; advanced degree preferred
4-5 years’ experience writing or editing scientific technical marketing content
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Keen attention to detail and a high regard for content quality
Impeccable English writing, grammar, and proofreading skills and sophisticated knowledge of scientific content types
Experience working with content management systems, Adobe Experience Manager a plus
Understanding of web subject areas such as user experience, taxonomy and tagging, information architecture, content marketing, componentized content, digital marketing, analytics, and testing
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
Strong project management, relationship management, and critical thinking skills
Strong organization, verbal communication, and presentation skills
Highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative to drive content improvements
Ability to travel at low frequency for team, project, and business meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
Subject matter expertise in life science fields, including a strong understanding of applications and techniques used in laboratories or industrial settings
Experience with project/backlog management tools, Workfront and Jira
Experience in web analytics, specifically Adobe.
