As a member of the EOHS team, the Risk Insurance Services Analyst role is responsible for supporting the H&S leader/manager to ensure all local, legislative EOHS tasks and comprehensive administrative activities are completed to the required H&S legislative and compliance requirements, including additional statutory related regulations and best industry standards.

The requirement reports to the country EOHS Leader/Manager to provide support to develop and maintain to a robust H&S program, to ensure all office locations and activities have the statutory EOHS requirements in place, support the core administrative upkeep of these and ensure ongoing EOHS compliance with the site-specific policies, control measures and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Become an integral part of a pro-active country health and safety program, thereby providing the core administrative support to the H&S leader/manager for UHG sites, including acquired entities

  • Support H&S deliverables to ensure H&S regulatory compliance is achieved at UHG locations

  • Manage regulatory adherence assessments, following outcome of gap analysis and associated corrective and preventive actions

  • Support the promotion of a proactive safety culture, which will work in synergy within the framework of the local business culture and also align with enterprise EOHS objectives and local regulatory requirements

  • With the direction of the H&S country lead/manager, support the development, review and monitoring of an effective emergency response program at each site, engaging with key stakeholders and emergency response resources

  • Support the compilation of planned site tailored H&S inspections at each location, identifying key hazards, actions and closing out same. Maintain safety inspection/audit records, to be available upon request from any external regulatory audit

  • Partner with key stakeholders/partners to retrieve the relevant safety information for H&S metrics, inspection and audit requirements, gaps & remedial actions, to support compliance and the development of best practice programs

  • Administer and provide timely safety data and management reports, including KPIs, safety monitoring reports, non-conformances and improvement plans, with direction from the H&S leader/manager

  • Conduct activity/task/role risk assessment analysis for current and new hazards at each site location, partnering with the various department stakeholders

  • Support and oversight of local incident management programs, liaising with relevant partners to ensure all relevant data is captured, in line with consistent, secure and corporate programs

  • Administer and complete accident and injury processes, lessons learnt, reoccurrence prevention strategies and report resolution updates

  • Support the communication of EOHS information, processes and procedures to raise awareness to all employees and contractors. Respond to general H&S queries, providing updates as required

  • Administer the requirements of a safety committee, engaging with stakeholders to have adequate representation. Update and circulate meeting agendas, minutes and follow up actions

  • Provide H&S induction and training, aligning with enterprise training programs, reviewing safety modules and supporting the update of same, ensuring continuous development and evaluations of safety training to ensure best practice, tailoring each to meet specific business site hazards & country legislative requirements/laws

  • Provide and maintain training records, relevant safety documentation, permits and procedures relating to regulatory and safety compliance requirements

  • Review/update of statutory H&S specific procedures/site specific assessments as required by legislation, for all relevant sites

  • Liaise with relevant site stakeholders to monitor/review relevant EOHS related information/consultation requirements/ status of required procedures to ensure compliance

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years demonstrable EOHS experience, relating to H&S audits, metrics, safety policies/procedures/risk assessments and best industry practice

  • A recognized qualification in EOHS or a related field, with demonstrable knowledge of H&S legislation and statutory requirements

  • Excellent MS proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint - at moderate to advanced level supporting all administrative requirements

  • Proven solid self-management, organization and administrative skills

  • Proven excellent communication, presentation and training skills

  • Proven to be meticulous - with great attention to detail

  • Proven ability to work on own initiative, under pressure, prioritizing workload to ensure all administrative deadlines are met

Preferred Qualification:

  • Membership of a certified safety body
