Job Summary:
As Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments using all Cloud platforms. You will lead operations in supporting all Trane Technologies Cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance and security. Your expertise in Windows administration within all Cloud Platforms, automation with scripting along with your knowledge of Cloud Platform security services, will be crucial in this role.
Job Responsibilities:
- CloudFormation, SSM, Service Catalog Deployments:
· Design, develop, and manage AWS CloudFormation templates to automate infrastructure deployment.
· Utilize AWS Systems Manager (SSM) for configuration management and automation.
· Implement and manage AWS Service Catalog to create and manage catalogs of IT services.
- Scripting and Automation:
· Develop and maintain shell scripts, Ansible and PowerShell scripts for automation and orchestration tasks.
· Implement Backup solutions across all Cloud Platforms to ensure data protection and disaster recovery.
- Maintenance and Tagging:
· Schedule and manage maintenance windows for all Cloud Platform resources.
· Implement and enforce tagging policies to ensure proper resource management and cost allocation.
- AWS Components:
· Hands-on experience with a wide range of AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Route53, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Load balancers and more.
· Good understanding with working knowledge of AWS landing zone / AWS Control Tower.
· Troubleshoot issues across various AWS Services.
- Operations Leadership:
· Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers with our strategic IT Partner in supporting and optimizing all environments on Cloud Platforms.
· Develop and implement best practices for cloud operations, monitoring, and incident response.
· Able to work with Cloud Service Providers Enterprise Support to resolve critical issues.
- Windows Administration:
· Expert-level administration of Windows servers within the Cloud environment.
· Implementation of Windows Clustering in all Cloud environments.
· Perform routine maintenance, updates, and security hardening for Windows instances.
- Linux Server Administration:
· Proficient in administering Linux servers within Cloud environment.
· Perform routine maintenance, updates, and security hardening for Linux instances.
- AWS Security Integration:
· Integrate and manage AWS Security Hub and Control Tower to enhance security posture and compliance.
· Implement security best practices and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
· Good understanding of security standards like CIS, NIST.
- Other:
· Knowledge to orchestrate deployments with terraform or Ansible using GitHub.
· Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud is desirable.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering - Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience in IT and 5 years of experience in cloud solutions, architecture, cloud engineering, or a related role.
Certifications: Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) are highly desirable.
Key Competencies:
· Technical Skills:
¾ Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or Oracle Cloud
¾ Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
¾ Experience with cloud security, networking, and storage solutions.
¾ Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, GitHub).
¾ Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
