Stryker Manager, Automation and Cloud Support in Bangalore, India

As the Manager, Cloud Support, you will lead a team of Cloud Support Engineers to help support and scale Vocera Cloud Services for hundreds of users. This is a hands-on role, focused on establishing a 24x7 NOC, SRE and Cloud Ops Support practice for Stryker Vocera products based in Bangalore.

What you will do:

  • You will build a high performing team of Cloud Platform SMEsto deliver 24x7 Global monitoring services, including upgrades, operational configurations, and maintenance updates to Vocera software assets. Personnel will be locally based in Bangalore and US.

  • Establish operational process and tooling to monitorcustomer environments and ensure customer SLA’sare being met and server uptime KPI’s of 99.99% are being achieved

  • Champion customer issues within the organization to build the best customer experience to define and build the way we deliver product upgrades. 

  • Serve as a liaison between Technical Support and Engineering, ensuring an escalation process is effective and efficient, including coordination with external partners. 

  • Build effective teams through high quality hiring, employee engagement, resource allocation and creating a continuous learning environment.

  • Assist in the development and delivery of training for internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Lead and report the prioritization of product defects and enhancement requests.

  • Continuously identify trending critical issue root causes and partner with other departments to mitigate and eliminate the source of issue.

What you need :

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or 6+ years of additional equivalent work experience 8+ years experience in critical, large scale distributed systems experience, combining Hardware, Operating Systems and Software

  • Experience with on-prem and cloud compute platforms (AWS), Microsoft Azure, VMWARE, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD,Artifactory etc. for continuously deploying applications.

  • Experience with Cloud Monitoring solutions like DataDog, Dynatrace, New Relic, SolarWinds,Zabbix

  • 3+ years experience building and leading engineering teams; ideally SRE or Production Engineering

  • Strong emphasis on SRE as an engineering subject area, with proficiency in at least in one of the following languages (Golang, Rust, Python, Swift)

  • Understanding of SRE principals, including monitoring, alerting, error budgets, fault analysis, and other common reliability engineering concepts, with a keen eye for opportunities to eliminate toil by code and process improvements

  • Superb interpersonal skills, capable of working with multi-functional technical and business teams and varying levels of management, influencing decision making

Successful c andidates w ill h ave the following :

  • Act as the Service Owner, designing and mapping key performance indicators to achieve the organization’s mission

  • Lead the definition of requirements, priorities and planning of engineering deliverables - Implement structured engineering and operations processes

  • Lead the team in daily agile SRE practices, ensuring proper team focus on priorities, achievements, and deliverables

  • A strong understanding of SRE principles and practices, combined with a track record of resolving issues in a live production environment, and implementing strategies to minimize them while driving clear action plans for the team.

  • The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with a passion for excellence, quality, and detail. As a leader, you will be responsible for coaching and mentoring your team members, helping them achieve service goals, and build career paths in alignment. It’s imperative for the leader to empower their team by providing appropriate context and timely feedback.

  • The leader will not only own the service, but will also collaborate with other teams within Vocera. They will build trust with stakeholders and partner through diplomacy, discussion, and follow-through. This is a broad cross-organization role with high-visibility, collaborating with multiple teams. They are expected to invest in and build good relations with key partners. Their collaboration with internal customers, product engineering, and development groups is critical to success.
