Your day at NTT DATA

The Networking Managed Services Engineer (L3) is a seasoned engineering role, responsible for providing a managed service to clients by proactively identifying and resolving technical incidents and problems.

Through pre-emptive service incident and resolution activities, as well as product reviews, operational improvements, operational practices, and quality assurance this role maintains a high level of service to clients.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure zero missed service level agreement (SLA) conditions and is responsible for managing tickets of high complexity, conducts advanced and complicated tasks, and provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems.

This position uses considerable judgment and independent analysis within defined policies and practices and applies analytical thinking and deep technical expertise in achieving client outcomes, while coaching and mentoring junior team members across functions.

The Networking Managed Services Engineer (L3) may also contribute to / support on project work as and when required.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Requirements:

  • SME level understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, protocols, routing, switching)

  • Very good understanding of LAN and WAN concepts & solutions - including SDWAN.

  • Hands-on experience (administration and/or deployment) on following solutions:

  • SDWAN technologies (Cisco SDWAN/Viptela, Cisco Meraki)

  • Dynamic Routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)

Tier 2 / 3 Change, Release, Incident, and Problem Management of the Cisco products and technologies and the configuration tuning of the SD-WAN enterprise Install hardware or software fixes associated with security vulnerabilities Perform ongoing code updates to the management systems. Knowledge on REST API & Python programming

In depth Knowledge on QoS, Cloud policies and troubleshoot on QoS Policies and protocols BGP, OSPF,VRRP and route redistribution. In depth Knowledge on Configuring Centralized & Localized Policies of Control & Data policies Configuring IKE-enabled IPSec tunnels and configuring security parameters GoodGood exposure to vbond, vmanage, vedge, cedge etc. Create, Configure & troubleshoot the Future & CLI based Templates Troubleshoot on Service Chaining, CFLowd & Traffic Engineering Troubleshoot the SD WAN policies / network through Vmanage/Forti Manager Dashboard Migration experience from non-SD WAN to SD WAN sites & should involve in preparation of template. Debugging / troubleshooting issues such as hardware & operation issues. Troubleshooting issues such as device failover, Site-to-site VPNs (IPSEC), remote access VPN's and AnyConnect VPN's (SSL), IP Conflict etc. Advanced troubleshooting production problems with RCA and fault diagnosis. Migration experience from traditional WAN to SD-WAN(Viptela, Fortinet etc) knowledge on Layer 2 technologies, Layer 3 technologies, VPN technologies (MPLS, DMVPN, IPsec, GRE), Cisco Wireless (traditional and Meraki Cloud based solutions). understanding of wireless and wired networks, including 802.11, 802.1x, firewalls, content filters, routing/switching, SDWAN etc. Knowledge on Warm spare redundancy (VRRP), OSPF Routing, MAC forwarding entries, DHCP Server, DHCP Relay,802.1X Authentication, DHCP Snooping, STP Enhancements, IPv4 and IPv6 ACLs)

Minimum of 3-year hands on SDWAN experience on Cisco SDWAN/Viptela, and total 8+ years of experience in routing and switching, implementation and post implementation Support… Desired exposure on SD-WAN Design, Site audit templates, policies and test plan for individual sites. Deployment of Cisco SDWAN solutions Secure control plane & Data plane bring up process Experience with Cisco SD-WAN management and tuning.

  • Additional skills proficiency such as (but not limited to) -

  • Pulse Secure SSL VPN / Virtual Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet Firewalls / Cisco Nexus switches, ASR and ISR routers / Cisco ACS, ISE / Meraki switches and access points / Enterprise network architecture / Common routing protocols: BGP,OSPF, EIGRP / Network address translation / Configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting uplinks to ISPs for DIA, MPLS and P2P circuits / Familiarity with common network management and monitoring tools such as SecureCRT, Logic Monitor.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in IT/Computing (or demonstrated equivalent work experience).

  • CCNP or equivalent certification.

  • Certifications relevant to the services provided (certifications carry additional weightage on a candidate’s qualification for the role).

Required Experience:

  • Seasoned experience required in Engineering function within a medium to large ICT organization.

  • Seasoned experience of Managed Services.

  • Seasoned working knowledge of ITIL processes.

  • Seasoned experience working with vendors and/or 3rd parties.
