The Teams Platform integrates developer innovation, including Teams Apps, conversational bots, and rich canvases, all built using Microsoft Graph and the AI capabilities of Microsoft Copilot, to provide a seamless user experience.
We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on complex problems, interface closely with the developer community and contribute to one of the fastest growing products in Microsoft's history. Responsibilities
Partners with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of scenarios.
Leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
Leads by example and mentors others to produce extensible and maintainable code used across products.
Leverages subject-matter expertise of cross-product features with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive multiple group's project plans, release plans, and work items.
Holds accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), mentoring engineers across products/solutions, working on-call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Python
OR equivalent experience.
3+ years' Experience architecting and building backend services using ASP.NET.
Strong problem solving, debugging, collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with complex single page applications.
Experience optimizing experiences for performance and accessibility.
Experience in building and shipping large-scale distributed services and APIs, preferably on Azure or AWS platforms.
HTML/CSS scripting experience at building great UI/UX.
Expertise in middle tier/backend technologies such as .NET, relational and/or non-relational (NoSQL) databases, web services and RESTful concepts.
Experience with unit-test, continuous integration and test-driven development.
