Your day at NTT DATA

The Senior Manager, Change Control is a senior management role, responsible for ensuring the continuous availability of IT services through the management and governance of change requests.

This role ensures that all changes introduced in the client’s live production environment happens in a controlled and coordinated manner, ensuring minimal disruption of services.

The Senior Manager, Change Control ensures that standardized methods and procedures are in place for efficient handling of all change requests, ensuring the continuous development of their team(s) to achieve team and organizational objectives.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the development and implementation of the change control strategy, process, policy, and method.

  • Ensures the application of principles and disciplines as prescribed by ITIL to relevant policy and processes.

  • Takes control of the complete change management lifecycle for simple changes and ensures the management of this process to successful execution.

  • Ensures that any change requests are classified and prioritized based on importance, impact and complexity.

  • Manages the assessment of risk and technical impact associated with the change request and ensures that the correct technical team resolves or deals with the matter.

  • Ensures the planning, coordination, and prioritization of changes based on relatedness and priority and ensures schedules are in place to track, manage and report on the fulfilment of change requests.

  • Participates in review boards as required to review the success of changes implemented and to conduct an analysis of the process.

  • Manages the reporting on metrics that relates to the reporting of the volume of changes, types of changes, and no failures of changes.

  • Ensures that all changes to the project are documented, approved, and tracked.

  • Monitors the progress of the change and makes sure that it is implemented as planned.

  • Manages, coaches, mentors and develops a team(s) to achieve team and organizational objectives.

  • Extended ability to identify potential risks associated with proposed changes prior to implementation.

  • Extended problem-solving skills along with the ability to think critically when making decisions that affect the organization’s processes or procedures.

  • Ability to anticipate issues before they arise while also remaining flexible enough respond quickly if needed during times of unexpected change requests from client or other business stakeholders.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration / Management Information Systems / Computer Science or related field.

  • ITIL certification required.

  • Certification such as an ISO/IEC 20000 Change Control Manager (or similar) is preferred.

Required Experience:

  • Extended experience in change control and/or release management role in an IT services environment, preferably a global IT organization.

  • Extended experience working with cross functional stakeholders (internal and external stakeholders) to ensure compliance and process improvement initiatives are met on time.

  • Extended experience analyzing processes and recommending improvements.

  • Extended experience managing and leading a team of experts in the area of change control.

  • Extended experience tracking, documenting, analyzing and reporting changes made by stakeholders.
