To support our mission, we are expanding our Engineering, Operations, Research, Finance, Product Management, Marketing and Data teams. We are working together to extend the global reach of Payments and Lending and launch the next generation of products and customer experiences.

As a SDE3, you will be responsible for design, development, test, deploy, deliver and support the large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications and tools that serve Amazon Business Customers. You will work as full-stack engineers building end to end experiences on Front-end, UI, UX frameworks / Back-end, REST APIs, leveraging a wide array of AWS services including EC2, S3, API Gateway, Workflow service, Step Function, DynamoDB, Lambda and infra-as-code with CDK scripts and much more. As a SDE3, You should be highly quantitative, have great judgment and passion for building a great customer experience, be inventive, and have a strong track record of delivery. You also have a pragmatic approach and iterative approach to building software: you have an ability to simplify and get things done with a demonstrated track record of building and delivering software and working effectively with external and internal teams.

Key job responsibilities

Basic qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred qualifications

  • Masters in Computer Science or related area or equivalent industry experience

  • Experience writing code in a high volume, service-based architecture

  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design and data structures

  • Experience with algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis

  • Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java, C++ or Perl

  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
