Applied Materials Sr Mechanical Engineering manager in Bangalore, India

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager. As a Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of mechanical engineers, overseeing the design and development of semiconductor equipment, and ensuring the successful execution of projects from concept to production.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers in the design, development, and testing of semiconductor equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, software engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components into the overall equipment design.

  3. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in mechanical engineering processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

  4. Develop and maintain engineering standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistent and high-quality mechanical designs.

  5. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the mechanical engineering team, fostering professional growth and development.

  6. Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans, budgets, and timelines, and ensure the successful execution of projects within the defined parameters.

  7. Conduct regular design reviews and participate in the resolution of technical challenges, ensuring designs meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements.

  8. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate and select components, materials, and technologies that meet product specifications and quality standards.

  9. Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and semiconductor equipment manufacturing, and provide recommendations for incorporating new technologies and techniques into product designs.

Qualifications:

  1. Masters or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  2. Proven experience (8+ years) in mechanical engineering, preferably in equipment manufacturing or a related industry.

  3. Strong leadership and management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve project goals.

  4. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with engineering simulation and analysis tools.

  5. In-depth knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes, with a focus on precision engineering.

  6. Experience in designing and developing complex mechanical systems constrained by mechanical, thermal and fluid dynamics interactions.

  7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.

  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers.

  9. Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver results within tight deadlines.
