Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

RESPONSBILITIES

Magnetic sensor system simulation to support product designers for component and magnet selection, schematic design, PCB layout, algorithm, software and mechanical development.

• Evaluate prototype test data to optimize simulation model and confirm that the selected technology fits expected performance and customer functional requirements.

• Support Engineering manager and sensor expert to define product specification.

• Work with business team and customer to understand upper system function and detail application.

• Generate and maintain simulation models, document simulation data and result.

• Knowledge exchange cross engineering team, keep willingness to learn new things.

• Execute project activities from initial research & development throughout the entire project development lifecycle.

• Support the analysis of validation prototype test data to determine failure mechanisms and where necessary develop and communicate proposed countermeasures working with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and ensure transfer of lessons learned.

• In accordance with TE standards for daily working.

DESIRED SKILLS:

University degree in natural science and/or engineering subject (software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or communications engineering) is desired

• 10+ years solid expereince with system simuation

• Experience in sensor technology, preferably magnetic sensors (i.e. AMR, GMR, TMR, Hall Effect, Eddy Current etc.)

• Profound programming skills in an OO language like C# or C++, scripting languages like Matlab, Python, etc

• Thorough knowledge of a multiphysics simulation tool like Ansys, Comsol etc.

• Extensive experience to select and develop proper compensation algorithms for position sensors

• In-depth knowledge and expertise with algorithm selection, familiar with kinds of algorithms, DSP, Kalman filter etc.

• Experience with general engineering tools such as DoE, FMEA, QFD, etc.

• Experience in working with global technology and product development teams in a crossfunctional, multi-site environment to deliver projects with multiple dependencies and constraints

• Exceptional fluency in English

• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

• Willingness to travel as required, 10%
