Shire IT Software Asset Management Analyst in Bannockburn, Illinois

Summary:

Software Asset Management Analyst to support IT Software Asset Management and proactively manage the compliance position for key software vendors managed within the IT Business Office for Global IT.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze install/usage data (software Inventory) to determine license compliance.

  • Track selected IT software assets in the asset management tool (e.g. ServiceNow) and ensure relevant lifecycle transactions are accurately captured.

  • Collaborate with end-users, managers, developers, and team members to respond to IT Software Asset Management data requests.

  • Develop and publish reporting and metrics to monitor program health, promote best practices, and support core operational activities.

  • Conduct software license research to support purchasing and contract requirements.

  • Responsible for the collection and tracking of IT Software and Hardware maintenance renewals.

  • As a Software Asset Management Analyst you will be involved in the management of software acquisition, compliance, maintenance renewals, life cycle planning and costing.

  • Specifically you will;

  • Facilitate the business’ needs for ongoing technical support and upgrade protection on selected products by ensuring that maintenance, support and upgrade protection renewals are managed/handled/ordered in advance of their expiration.

  • Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services. Follow through with vendors and Shire to obtain identified savings.

  • Manage contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.

  • Collect information for budgeting, software compliance & inventory, and cost comparisons.

  • Enter and maintain information in a database format to address budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contracts, and cost. Assist in the development of reporting to address management requirements to obtain information.

  • Communicate through email, individual interview, group meetings, and presentations to end users, management, developers, and vendors.

  • Respond to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT Software Asset Management data information.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field

  • 3+ years successful asset management experience

  • Must be a team player and have the ability to work efficiently in collaboration with others, as well as independently, in a fast-pace environment.

  • Good communication and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).

  • Good analytical skills and knowledge including, internal control requirements and accounting principles as well as understanding of relevant business environment.

  • Self-directed, flexible and able to work independently.

  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
