Create, design new project test plans to qualify the contents of project requirements and functional specifications. Design, test cases listed in the project test plan. Improve test specifications by analyzing the root causes of technical issues, and develop testing solutions for those root causes. Create and apply new approaches as necessary to improve the productivity and efficiency of testing. Interaction with customer to obtain input for project testing. Technical Lead in guiding junior engineers. Works without supervision on highly complex projects with latitude for independent judgment. Extensive knowledge of the field with proficiency across multiple product lines.

Job Description:

Exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer to contribute to our ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and stability of our leading CAE simulation software. You will be a key member of the team to ensure our automated test suite continues to grow, mature, and provide effective regression coverage for our STAR-CCM+ product. Working with development and QA resources you will manage and drive improvements to our existing tools and processes. Your strict attention to detail will be required to confirm new solutions enhance our automation framework and effectively increase the test coverage provided for our software. The primary focus of the role will be on enhancing coverage for Performance related tests but will encompass many aspects of automation and expansion of the test coverage.

Tasks:

  • Working with STAR-Test QA lead, enhance the automation framework and test cases within STAR-Test, specifically focused on performance aspects such time CPU consumed, memory used, scalability on higher core systems.

  • Work with development team and QA Leads reviewing updated suites and providing guidance in creation of new tests.

  • Interface with DevOps to request enhancements to existing automation framework.

  • Assist development team in early upstream testing of sandbox/feature branches

  • Ensure adherence to best practices in creation and maintenance of Performance test suites.

Skills/Experience:

  • Scripting language; Python, Javascript or comparable

  • Familiarity with Java and CFD/CAE software.

  • Ability to work with GIT and source code to bisect errors

  • Schedule runs of new and existing Test Suites

  • Perform review of new automated suites to confirm their alignment to established coding standards and execution reliability within the test environment prior to migration to production test systems

  • Conduct analysis of existing Suites to review coverage gaps and propose new suites

  • Analysis of new functionality within STAR-CCM+ and confirmation of planned tests to support regression coverage.
