Job Description

This position provides quality operations leadership to the global distribution operation.

The Director of Quality role will provide Quality leadership for the Global Ship Hold process. This scope will include ownership, monitoring and communication of the Global Ship Hold process. In addition, this role will be responsible for managing global strategy and implementation for the quality requirements for inventory handling, segregation and reporting. This position partners closely with the Global Supply Chain Management.

Job Duties

  • Serves as the global process owner (GPO) for the Global Ship Hold Process

  • Monitors and manages the initiation, progress and release of global ship holds.

  • Develops and executes global communication on the status and action plan of existing global ship holds.

  • Partners with the Field Corrective Action (FCA) team on inventory handling and reconciliation of open projects

  • Develops strategic priorities for the global control, disposition and resolution of quality processes for material control.

  • Works with regional management and staff to ensure the successful execution of established policies and procedures for inventory management.

  • Serves as a global leader to focus a matrixed network of Ship Hold Coordinators

  • Continued monitoring of staff performance to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Performs all other duties as directed.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum requirements are a BA/BS degree or equivalent in a Life Science, Engineering, or Supply Chain management. Advanced technical degree and/or MBA preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 years of cGMP experience in quality management or operations within the MedTech industry.

  • Experience with durable medical devices, and a strong understanding of supply chain processes and inventory controls (reverse logistics is a plus)

  • Demonstrated experience influencing senior level management, key stakeholders and leveraging cross-functional partnerships for successful execution of critical quality initiatives.

  • Experience interpreting and applying business requirements and regulations (FDA and other applicable global authorities) into sustainable quality processes leveraging industry best practices.

  • Experience with global inventory processes and systems (ERP) – including hold mechanisms.

  • Experience with warehouse management processes and systems (WMS) including product segregation and control on non-conforming material.

  • Will work with global teams, availability will include working across global time zones. Travel up to 25% possible.
