What you'll be doing...As a Specialist of Quality Engineering, you will be responsible for analyzing the requirements, assessing test coverage required, defining and executing test scenarios in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for delivering a high quality product. You will apply automation techniques to deliver faster test results and enable faster to market of resp Verizon programs.
Working with a team of quality engineers and with partners like Developers, SME, Architects and Business Analysts on test activities and deliverables.
Defining test scenarios, test cases, execution of tests, publishing test reports; for a given set of requirements.
Owning and delivering modules of programs independently.
Contributing towards automation/framework using standard test automation tools for the respective area of work.
Leading quality engineers and driving results as a team.
Leveraging the testing life cycles tools, DevOps/Agile tools for day-to-day operations, status reporting and to collaborate with other partners.
Innovating for process transformation and improving the overall delivery excellence by working through project dynamics.
Drive support in performing evaluations and quality control audits as part of company quality control programs and assuring compliance with company and/or external standards and specifications.
Design and implement methods and procedures for testing and evaluation of products for compliance and identifies problem trends and resolves complex technical problems. Develop test scripts, perform testing, and conduct in-depth quality control analyses. Typically documents findings and implements team facilitation to resolve quality issues. Responsibilities may also include providing education and training in quality principles and methodology.
Work with clients to evaluate business needs in order to design and implement the testing strategy and requirements for various initiatives.
Design test cases end-to-end across the life-cycle of various initiatives, ensuring they capture the full requirements of the project.
Partner with internal and external developers to implement the test cases and verify that the process works effectively.
Work with internal and external teams across the development process to provide updates, determine solutions to issues, and add additional criteria if necessary.
Verify that testing results meet the requirements of the business, providing insights and resolving possible issues.
You enjoy working on testing principles and applying different testing techniques to deliver a high quality product. You stay focused and enjoy the challenge that comes with this role and are able to manage work effectively in a dynamic, complex and deadline-oriented environment. You are curious to work with multiple stakeholders and enjoy networking and managing effective working relationships.
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience with automation tools, developing software test plans, managing defects lifecycle using standard tools.
Experience working in Agile/SAFe teams.
Experience on testing principles, applying different testing techniques to deliver a high quality product.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
Experience or knowledge of Verizon FinOps processes and systems used by Collections and Fraud teams such as ACSS and CACS.
Experience or knowledge of Verizon customer facing systems such as My Verizon, My Verizon Mobile and the IVR.
Ability to adopt an automation first approach and execute the automation test strategies.
Knowledge of reusable component development.
Collaboration skills to manage the peers, partners and other stakeholders.
Ability to handle competing priorities, issues and escalations.
