What you'll be doing...

Verizon operates in multiple segments across wireless and wireline connectivity, complemented by a suite of value-added services and world-class connectivity products. The Senior Manager of Consumer Strategy will work across the organization to identify and analyze key strategic questions that underpin decisions made by or are on top of the mind of Verizon's Board of Directors and executive leadership. You will be a key member of the VCG Strategy team that supports the Value portfolio.

This role is dynamic, fast-paced, and covers a broad range of project scope. The ideal candidate will be able to self-govern and be comfortable taking ownership of initiatives that directly impact the growth trajectory of our Value portfolio. You will act as a key partner and advisor to Verizon Value leadership providing thought leadership, recommendations, and driving action-oriented solutions with objective, clear, impactful analysis.

The VCG Strategy team works together, while organized into a few broad topic areas. All members speak the language of strategy; each team also has depth in one or more.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting senior leadership in crafting analyses, actions, and messaging for key strategic topics

  • Developing structured near and long-term perspectives for Verizon Value, with a strong outside-in orientation

  • Defining and supporting the strategic planning process and other key operational activities

  • Leveraging data analysis to support arguments and recommendations

  • Identifying emerging trends, critical business risks, and opportunities to inform all levels of our strategy

  • Leading projects independently including research, analysis, and recommendations

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives and recommendations forward

  • Presenting logical and persuasive arguments adapted to audience

What we're looking for ...

You are extremely comfortable working in ambiguous environments. You are a self-starter, a creative and innovative thinker.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience; or

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience

  • Two or more years of experience in strategy, consulting, investment banking, or similar experience

  • Financial modeling experience (e.g., forecasting, creating business plans, analyzing financial data)

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

  • Strong consulting and/or experience with corporate/BU strategy

  • Experience with analyzing data to drive critical business decisions and recommendations to shape business strategy

  • Experience researching market/industry trends, company valuations, and the ability to find opportunities for Verizon's growth based on this research.

  • Experience working in a large, dynamic, complex organization, where developing strong interpersonal relationships and leading through influence are keys to success

  • A collaborative approach to problem-solving and the ability to bring others along as you develop your data analyses and supporting arguments

  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills (e.g., storyboarding, executive proposal creation, presentation of said proposals).

  • Solid quantitative and analytical skills, including robust financial modeling skills and the ability to perform and review quantitative analysis with relative autonomy.

  • Strong self-initiative - the ability to deal with a high degree of ambiguity and drive clarity in critical areas while working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong executive-level communication skills in a rapid-paced environment

  • Knowledge of handling extremely confidential information appropriately

  • Ability to travel as needed for business-critical meetings

Where you'll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
