MILACRON PLASTICS TECHNOLOGIES GROUP LLC Research & Test Analyst - Mechanical Lab (Batavia, OH) in Batavia, Ohio

As a Research and Test Analyst, you will manage the Mechanical/Hydraulic Test lab. Your responsibilities will include managing and performing tests to enhance the technology and performance of Milacron product lines and their subsystems. You will need strong analytical skills to perform tests for the NPD and R&D divisions, collaborating with Milacron's Technology groups. You will also generate comparative data on the performance of key hydraulic/mechanical components used in Milacron's product lines. Your role will involve using DFMEA and similar processes in NPD, ensuring desired outcomes, and utilizing Verification and Validation methodologies to address reliability areas. You will manage the database of tests conducted in the lab, supervise the Lab technician, and regularly review the needs for maintaining the lab and its equipment. You will also partner with teams of NPD, Control & Engineering to establish well-planned test roadmaps and timelines, and support application groups for mold trials on machines in the lab. This role sits onsite in Batavia, Ohio at our Milacron Headquarters. Essential/Key Functions In this job role you will perform the following but not limited to... Manage the Mechanical/Hydraulic Test lab and perform tests to enhance Milacron product lines and subsystems. Utilize strong analytical skills to support NPD and R&D divisions, collaborating with Milacron's Technology groups. Generate comparative data on key hydraulic/mechanical components' performance and drive decision-making in NPD, Sales, and Engineering groups. Implement DFMEA and similar processes in NPD, and use Verification and Validation methodologies to address reliability areas. Improve lab effectiveness through Continuous Improvement methodologies and manage the database of conducted tests. Supervise the Lab technician, maintain lab equipment, and ensure the lab's functionality and advancement. Report monthly lab performance data and establish test roadmaps and timelines with NPD, Control & Engineering teams. Collaborate with Sales, Field service & Quality teams to identify opportunities and support application groups for mold trials. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Plastic Engineering plus 5+ years in testing, validation, R+D, or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong analytical skills is must for an advance data analysis to drive the business needs on product performance & reliability Experience of handling the measurements & knowledge on deep analysis of strain, stress, vibration, deflections & other mechanical properties using Data Aquisition systems such as LMS test lab Able to read, interpret & understand hydraulic schematics, GA drawings, Mechanical & hydraulic drawings Experience in utilizing DFMEA and similar tools for an impact on successful product launches Preferred Qualifications: Formal training in Six Sigma, Reliability Science experience or other problem-solving skills is a plus #LI-VBH Who we are: Milacron is a global leader in the manufacture, distribution and service of highly engineered and customized systems within the $27 billion plastic technology and processing industry.
