Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a Solutions Delivery Engineer to work in this fast-paced technology environment with world-class engineers and customers on cutting-edge technologies.
We are looking for an Engineer (hands-on, problem solver, technical expert) who is passionate about Linux, containerisation, Cloud/DevOps technologies; and with deep technical expertise gained from many years of hands-on experience.
NCR Voyix have developed an exciting new Kubernetes platform for retailers. You will be working with our customers to deploy NCR Voyix Edge, and integrate with their existing infrastructure.
NCR VOYIX Edge accelerates rollout of new application features and maximizes the performance of our customers store infrastructure. Purpose built for the retail edge, our unique software enables applications to run where they are most efficient with centralized application and infrastructure lifecycle management for better manageability, observability, cost and control.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience deploying containerized workloads and microservice architectures on Docker and/or Kubernetes
Minimum of 5 years experience in deploying, supporting and troubleshooting Linux server operating systems.
Minimum of 2 years experience of using one or more of major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and best practices
Minimum 2 years of configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet
Minimum 2 years of Infrastructure-as-Code experience using tools such as Terraform, Ansible and Helm Charts
Minimum 2 years of scripting/configuration-as-code experience such as Python, Ansible, Groovy, Bash and/or Powershell
Experience with the application development lifecycle and best practices involving source code management, application build, test and deployment
Excellent understanding of core internet and networking technologies – routing/switching, DNS, DHCP, firewalls
Strong ability to provide thought-through, clearly articulated, pragmatic solutions and recommendations to complex business problems
Ability to collaborate and influence across both technical and non-technical stakeholders, resources, and teams
Excellent technical communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex/technical issues to non-technical audiences
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
Becoming a technical expert in the NCR Voyix Edge solution
Assisting our customers with integrating and deploying the NCR Voyix Edge solution in our customers environments, both remotely and on-site.
Providing guidance and familiarisation to our customers and internal teams deploying and using our solution.
Working with our customers to deploy their applications into the NCR Voyix Edge solution
Troubleshooting of issues and providing solution to complex applications.
Building and maintaining lab environments.
Be able to work as a team to communicate timelines and completion dates.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of our products, technologies and our competitors.
Providing technical support to our Sales engineering team in relation to product architecture and during the implementation of ‘proof of concepts’ for new opportunities.
Automate processes to increase functionality, efficiency and simplify processes.
In fulfilling these responsibilities, you’ll work closely with the existing Professional Services team as you build and then apply your knowledge of our product to our customers.
Your Personal Qualities
The right person for this critical role will need to adopt a flexible approach and be extremely well organised in order to be able to prioritise personal workload given the different demands for their time.
You’ll need strong analytical skills, have excellent problem-solving ability when under pressure and have an attention to detail.
Given the breadth and complexity of our software product, you need to be the kind of person who enjoys learning new technologies and is willing to take on a variety of technical challenges.
You’ll also need to be willing to provide occasional out-of-hours support during our busiest periods and whilst we are building the team.
Hybrid working
Our offices are based in central Bath, a few minutes walk from the train station. We have a Hybrid working policy where we like to get together in the office 1 day a week. There will be a need to sometimes spend more than 1 day a week in the office when you are building labs and working with hardware in our lab.
