Job Summary
Join us as a Community Service Supervisor! Lead probationers and create lasting community impact!
The Community Service Supervisor supervises and monitors community service probationers as they abate illegal dumpsites and pick up litter in the City. Maintains foreclosed and City owned properties and supervises the community service walk-in site. Performs duties in conjunction with community service crews and the Clean Team group. Operates various motor vehicles including vans and trailers.
Duties
Supervises court ordered community service probationers as they abate illegal dumpsites and pick up litter and trash.
Transports community service probationers to work sites.
Surveys the City by vehicle and on foot, seeking out illegal dumpsite locations, litter, and trash problems.
Maintains records and files manually and on computer.
Conducts communication by correspondence, radio, phone, and/or in person.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver’s license within 90 days).
One year experience in Code Enforcement, Community Service, or a related field.
Prior supervisory experience.
Preferred:
Associates Degree from an accredited college or institution in a related field.
Code Enforcement Officer Certification.
Two years experience in Code Enforcement, Community Service, or a related field.
Previous experience as a Community Service Supervisor.
Bilingual - Spanish
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skilled in supervising others. Ability to drive a passenger van while pulling a landscape trailer. Ability to work outside. Ability to communicate appropriately with co-workers, other City departments and the public.
