Buyer/Planner

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in a semiconductor or manufacturing environment and will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and the planning of production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to place purchase orders at designated lead time.

  • Recommend opportunities for volume discounts with suppliers for high frequency items.

  • Update Purchase Order records with lead times, expected delivery dates, delays, and early shipments where appropriate.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery.

  • Maintain supplier record information with current lead time, pricing, MOQs, etc.

  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.

  • Process internal purchase requisitions for new product development.

  • Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to release scheduled work orders.

  • Analyze demand forecasts and adjust production plans accordingly.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement and production planning.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 2-5 years of experience in a buyer/planner role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Semiconductor industry experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
